Biography

PMDC presidential candidate, Mr. Charles Francis Kondo Margai, was born on August 19, 1945. He was educated at the St Edwards Primary School, the Christ the King College, Black Rock College, and the University College of Dublin, Ireland, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Civil Law in 1970. He started practising as a lawyer in 1971, and entered private practice in 1973. In 1998, he became the Minister of Internal Affairs, for four years, after which he resigned to continue private practice. He has also held a variety of public positions including President, Sierra Leone Bar Association, Lead Counsel, Kondowa Defence Team at the Special Court for Sierra Leone, and Oaths & Notary Public Commissioner. His hobbies are football, lawn tennis, table tennis, and reading. He and his wife Mrs. Vivat Margai have two children.
