Biography

SLPP presidential candidate, Mr. Solomon Ekuma Dominic Berewa, current Vice President of Sierra Leone, was born on August 6, 1938 and hails from Yengema Bumpe Chiefdom in Bo District. He attended the Catholic Primary School in Serabu, Christ the King College in Bo, and Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone, where concentrated in Latin, Politics, Philosophy, and Ethics. He graduated with a BA in 1963. He later graduated from the Inns of Court School of Law in London, and he returned home to practice as a Law Officer before founding a private practice a few years later. He later held several government positions including serving on the National Policy Advisory Council of the National Provisional Ruling Council, Attorney General and Minister of Justice in 1996, and most recently, Vice President in 2002. He was married to the late Mrs. Deborah Berewa, and has five children.
